as possible. president obama will travel here to boston on thursday for a religious interface service, dedicated to the three people killed in the attack and the more than 180 people injured. we now know the name of another of the three people who died, her name krystle campbell, 29 years old. her mother spoke out a little while ago in tears, saying she and her family are heart broken. we also just learned that the third person who died was a boston university graduate student. investigators here in boston say their hunt for a terrorist -- for a suspect in these terror bombings is still preliminary, and this case, they say, is wide open. >> among items partially recovered are pieces of black nylon, which could be from a backpack, and what appeared to be fragments of bbs, and nails, possibly contained in a pressure cooker device. in addition, this morning, it was determined that both of the explosives were placed in a dark colored nylon bag or backpack. the bag would have been heavy because of the components believed to be in it. >> let's bring in our chief national correspondent john
. we are -- >> we're hearing president obama set to visit boston tomorrow just to make everybody understand how big this is to the country. there will be an interfaith service when we gets here. we're tracking this entire story for you live in boston, looking at who was lost, but also the important steps toward finding who did this and why. let's bring in national correspondent susan candiotti joining us here in boston with the latest. susan? >> good morning, chris. because of these photos, we are now getting a close-up look at what a killer or killers used to kill and to maim innocent people. crime scene photos show part of what could be a pressure cooker used in the bombings. others show charred wire, attached to a battery. what appears to be a small circuit board. a half-inch nail. and a blood-stained zipper pull tab. another shows what looks like a massive ball bearing bb intended as deadly shrapnel. investigators are also combing through hundreds of photos from the scene, including this one, where a light-colored bag sits next to a mailbox. the before and after images captur
're heading right now. >> we did learn from governor duval patrick that president obama will be here thursday morning, 11:00 a.m. eastern for an interfaith service. the president will be here in boston thursday morning for this service, 11:00 a.m. gloria borger has been doing some reporting on what's been going on as well. what are you learning? >> i've spoken with a senior law enforcement source who is very familiar with the investigation, says a few things to me. right now as you've been talking about, the investigation is completely inconclusive. he said they believe they had something with the saudi national that evaporated and left them without latching on to anybody or any motive. he said to me it's not a good sign that they're still asking people to send in photographs because that means they're not much of anywhere with this investigation. what he says they will try to do is reassemble a close facsimile of the bomb and timing device so they look for that signature that john king was just talking about. they ask the question, does this resemble anything we have seen anywhere else? and
